Overview
Slurry flows through a tank while a stationary magnetic assembly inside a rotating drum captures ferromagnetic particles on the shell. As the drum turns, the captured material leaves the magnetic zone and is washed into the concentrate launder.
Tank designs differ by duty: concurrent for coarse roughing, counter-current for higher grade at lower recovery, and counter-rotation for fine particles.
Key features
- Strontium-ferrite or rare-earth magnets up to 250 mT at the shell.
- Stainless or rubber-lined drum with replaceable wear covers.
- Adjustable concentrate and tailings weirs.
- Dry-drum variants for coarse ore and slag.
