Overview
The MQG series is a horizontal cylindrical mill driven through a girth gear and pinion. Grinding media are lifted by the rotating shell and cascade onto the charge, breaking the ore by impact and attrition.
Overflow, grate and central-discharge variants are available. Overflow mills are the standard choice for fine grinding in closed circuit with a classifier; grate mills discharge faster and suit coarse or high-tonnage duties.
Key features
- Forged 42CrMo girth gear and pinion, hardened and precision-cut.
- Hydrostatic or grease-lubricated trunnion bearings.
- Replaceable shell liners for fast relining.
- Optional inching drive for safe liner inspection.
- Air clutch or soft starter to limit inrush current.
Typical applications
- Fine grinding ahead of flotation.
- Secondary grinding with a spiral classifier or cyclone.
- Regrinding of rougher concentrate.
